Revlon UltraHD Matte Lip Colour - Review

For some time now I have been really into liquid lipsticks, especially matte as this is the big trend at the minute and being a make-up lover, I have to jump on the band wagon and embrace it. So when I seen that Revlon had released a new lip product, I had to get my hands on them and I'm so glad I did.
These retail for £8.99 each and they have 7 shades - as Revlon was on offer in Boots for 3 for 2 I decided to only picked up 3 of my favourite shades.

The packaging of these products is lovely - its a frosted glass bottle with silver detailing so it looks and feels like very good quality.
The product itself is a dream, it has a slight sweet scent which I love, the formula is very moisturising and velvety - even when it dries to a matte finish, it doesn't dry out my lips or make them uncomfortable which is a big plus. It also doesn't go patchy or rub off around the inside of my mouth which is great, and it lasts all day/night long! The colour payoff is amazing also, with one swipe you get a very opaque colour so this will last me a very long time.

Overall, I think this product is great and as it's from the drugstore, its widely available and affordable so go check it out! :)

Freedom Pro Strobe Cream Kit

Coming into the winter months, you want your skin to look it's best and for me, using creams gives me that. I especially love using cream contours as it adds natural definiton to the face which is perfect for everyday wear and to achieve this I have been using the Freedom Pro Strobe Cream Kit which is available at Superdrug and retails for £10.
Included in the kit you get the cream contour palette which has three cream highlight shades and three cream bronzer shades as well as their strobe brush

I absoloutely adore this kit - the creams are so pigmented and creamy that they literally glide on and blend like a dream and still have the pigmentation to give a defined/highlighted look with little product, as a little does go a long way. The brush is also really, because of the shape, I wouldn't use it with the highlight shades as its a bit too rectangular, but it is perect for fitting into the hollows of the cheeks, the bridge of the nose and along the forehead.
It also lasts all day especially when set with a powder - it doesn't budge - which I was wary off when I first applied it because they are so creamy.

From Top to Bottom - Highlight Shade, Yellow shade, Pink Shade, light contour shade, dark contour, medium bronze shade

Sleek Highlighting Palette - Precious Metals

I got this palette ages ago when it first came out in Superdrug - and I don't know why it's taking me so long to actually review it... weird. But I do really like this product - I think when I got it it was £9.99 which to me is a bargain for the quality of the product.
You get three cream highlighters and one powder, you also get a wee brush to apply them but I'm not really fond of it, I just like to use my fingers to apply the cream and my realTechniques to apply the powder.
The packaging is shiny and sleek, and it also closes magnetically which saves the hassel of trying to work it open like so many palettes. The products themselves are lovely, the cream highlighters are smooth and creamy and very well pigmented and the powder is also smooth and easy to blend.

Maybelline dream Flawless Nude Foundation

I purchased this foundation a while ago and I have worn it quite a number of times but I've never gotten around too reviewing it so, here it it.
This product retails for £8.99 in Superdrug and Boots and I got the shade 10 Ivory
The packaging is quite small and sleek and I love how it's in a glass bottle. It comes with a "dropper"
type thing which to be honest, isn't my cup of tea but I can make do.
The foundation itself is very light weight and has a water consistency to it which makes it very blendable, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the skin and it is definitely buildable to a medium to full coverage. It feels very natural and lets your skin breath and adds a nice glow to the skin
(Left to Right) No make-up - One layer of foundation, with two layers on the cheek area for extra coverage

Overall, I do really like this foundation - its inexpensive, it has great coverage and it feels wonderful on the skin, I will definitely be purchasing another one!

Bourjois Summer Collection

I've seen these products a lot throughout social media, especially Instagram and I've been dying to try them and give you my thoughts. I love Bourjois - their products are amazing and so are their new products.

I picked up three of the 12hr Aqua Blushers, a Colour Boost lip crayon and their new, Nude Sensation foundation.

The blushers are gorgeous. They have four shades in total and I have three of them which are; Pink Twice, CocorriCoral and Nude.
The colour, when applied and blended onto the skin is quite sheer, giving that natural, healthy glow. The formula is a gel, which is feels lovely and cooling on the skin and is very easy to blend.

I picked up only one of the Colour Boost lip crayons as I wasn't sure if i would like the formula or texture as I am a bit fussy - but I do love it. The shade I got was Proudly Naked which is a lovely, natural pink shade. It keeps my lips hydrated and feeling soft, the texture is very smooth and comfortable doesn't make my lips feel sticky and it also lasts quite a long time too

I then picked up the Nude Sensation foundation in the shade 44 Sunny Nude, which is the darkest. The formula is a mousse in texture and it is very smooth to apply, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey at all. It also helps to refine any of my pores and it smoothes out any fine lines I have especially around my eyes.

(Left to Right) No make up - One layer of the foundation - Two layers of the Foundation

The foundation, as you can see does even out my skin tone and reduces the appearance of redness and blemishes etc. It is definitely buildable to a fuller coverage without feeling heavy. But I would say for those of you with very dry skin to avoid this foundation, even though it isn't necessarily drying, I don't think it would be kind to dry patches and it would more than likely accentuate them

But overall, I love these products and I will definitely be building up my collection of these products :)

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation & Concealer

Maybelline is a great drugstore brand - it's affordable, it has a huge range of products and has been around for years! For me personally, the Fit Me range is my favourite - I love the foundation and concealer.
The foundation retails for £9.99 which is the standard drugstore price for a foundation. It has a smooth texture - it feels lovely and moisturising on the skin and makes the skin look healthy and dewy and it also has an SPF of 18. As the texture is smooth, it is very easy to blend and it doesn't appear cakey or anything like that. I picked up the shade 220 Natural Beige as I like to wear this foundation with tan and it matches my tan very well, though there are 18 shades altogether in the collection so choosing a shade to match you would be fairly easy.
The concealer retails for £5.99 which is also a very good price. It has quite a light and smooth texture which makes it very easy to blend and smooth over any fine lines around the eye area - and it also helps to brighten the under eye are as well. It does have good coverage so I also like to use this on blemishes.

Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit

I'm a little on the fence about this product, there are things that I like and things that I don't. I like the packaging, I think it's really cute, it's not too bulky and it's a good size to take with you if you were going travelling. I like the colour and the tones of the products, they're quite cool toned which I like and there's a very gradual shade difference, it's not to harsh between the bronze shade and the contour shade which makes for a really natural contour. They also blend really nice and look very natural.

What I don't like, is the smell. When I first bought it I thought i was maybe just the packaging or the wee bit of plastic that protects the powders - but now I think it is the actual product which is pretty off putting for me as it doesn't smell the best, though you can't smell if when it's on your face so I guess it's not too bad and when I bought it was on offer for about £5.99 I think, so I can't really complain.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation and Primer

As I'm sure I have said quite a few times, I adore L'Oreal and it's fast becoming my favourite drugstore brand and without doubt, I absolutely love this combo! This foundation and Primer is gorgeous and if you were to wear them on their own, they look great as well.
I bought them together when there was a 3 for 2 which I also done a blog post on which you can find here. The foundation retails for £10.99 and primer is £9.99 which is a tad bit more expensive than other brands like Rimmel and Maybelline.
The primer is gorgeous, it has almost a silver appearances and when it's applied to the skin it gives it such a healthy and radiant appearance - without looking oily or greasy.
The foundation is also very radiant without looking oily, it just makes your skin look so healthy and beautiful and as if it's glowing from within. It has I'd say a medium to definitely a builable full coverage as it does a very good job at covering the redness on my cheeks.

Here is a picture of the primer and foundation together - as you can see my skin looks flawless and radiant and I'm absolutely in love! You all need to try this combo :)

Max Factor CC Colour Corrector

I bought this along with the Max Factor Liquid Illusion Foundation which I have done a review on which you can find here
This product retails for £8.99 - which I think is pretty reasonable considering how well of a job it does. I picked up the Under eye corrector because I do find it quite difficult to find a concealer which conceals them, and I know they may not look that bad in the picture, but they are a bit darker in real life. It has a slight yellow tone which helps to counteract the blue hue in my under eye circles really well.
So the main reason I got this, was to layer it, they way I wear it is, I apply it after my primer and before my foundation and then once my foundation is applied I use my Maybelline age rewind concealer. I find that layering it like this really helps to add the coverage I need without it being cakey. It is incredibly easy to blend out and it doesn't make my under eye feel dry like I've experienced with other "crayon" type concealers. It is also really brightening which I love and it helps to highlight the area.

You can see that my under eye circles have been concealed and they are a lot brighter and awake looking
I do really love this concealer and I use it everyday - when I wear make-up and even without make-up, so I will definitely be trying a few more of these.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation

I use the sponge that came with the foundation to apply it as I find it is the easiest and best way
I got this foundation along with a creme puff blush and the CC corrector for under they eyes on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. The foundation retails for £12.99, which I will admit, I thought it was a little bit pricey.
I really do like this foundation though, I love the consistency and texture of it and as it states, it has a liquid illusion feel to it which I would have to agree with, when it is first applied it is really cooling on the skin and does feel like a liquid but then it drys to almost a powder feel, so you don't need to set it, which is handy.

It gives a decent amount of coverage, as you'll be able to see from the pictures below, it does even out my skin tone and hides the redness on my cheeks, though I would still need to spot conceal which I don't mind, that's what concealer is for not foundation. I would say though that it would definitely be build-able to a fuller coverage.

Before the makeup application - you an see I have quite a bit of redness and a few pesky spots

The coverage is very good, though I do need to use a concealer just to add a bit of extra coverage on my spots
It does give my skin a very nice glow, making it look very natural and healthy. I would highly recommend this product if your looking for a new foundation, it is definitely one of my drugstore favourites

Sleek Face Form

I'm going to be honest and say I haven't tried that many Sleek products, I only have two of their lipsticks but I have heard so many good things about them and their products, and when I seen that they had this product in the shade I wanted (Medium) I knew I had to get it.
This product retails for £9.99 and can be found in larger Superdrug Stores

The first thing I fell in love with was the packaging, I love the matte black with the shiny Sleek on the front, it makes it look and feel expensive and sophisticated.

The pigmentation of this palette is wonderful, as they are powders I was a bit weary that they might be a bit chalky, but they are very smooth and glide on and give a wonderful pay off. I will be honest and say that I don't really use the blush shade, as I don't think I would be able to pull it off, at least not until summer where I want to look very bronzed and sunkissed, but other than that, I really do love this palette and for £9.99 you can't go wrong!

L'Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation and Primer

As you can see, my skin is very matte in the areas where I don't have a highlighter which is my nose, cheekbones and cupids bow

L'Oreal is fast becoming my favourite drugstore brand yet, they're products are absolutely amazing and the quality of each is superb. I bought the Infallible 24H Matte foundation and Primer a few weeks ago when they were on offer for £6.99 each in Superdrug and I've been trying them out for quite a while as well, I actually have two shades of the foundation - Porcelain and Sand Beige but for the purpose of this review I decided to do Porcelain as I don't usually show my pale foundations.

The foundation and Primer are fabulous together! The Primer has a very light texture and smooths onto the skin like a dream giving it a matte appearance. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky and doesn't leave any kind of residue on your skin.
The foundation matches me very well which is a bit surprising because usually I can't find one that does. It has quite a thicker texture/feel to it without it being too heavy, my skin still feels natural and like it's able to breath. The coverage is fairly high and is definitely build able without looking cakey - and it also applies matte onto the skin.

The staying power is also incredible, I wore this for a few days from around 8am to about 6.30-7pm and it did not budge, at all. It lasted well around 10.5 hours without a touch up, though that could be contributed to the fact I have dry skin, but even without that I'd say this would last a decent amount of time on any skin type

I do have dry skin so I was a bit wary when I first picked this foundation up, but I can honestly say I haven't had any problems with this foundation clingy to any dry areas or making me look patchy and I think it is mostly down the the fact I moisturise before I apply primer/foundation and also because of the Primer itself, helping to smooth out my skin - so even if you do have dry skin, I would highly recommend this duo, they are brilliant!

Product Review - e.l.f Studio Line Blush

As I'm sure you all know, I love affordable brands and one of those brands is e.l.f. For the price, the quality is amazing.
The Studio range from e.l.f. is by far my favourite - the packaging is lovely and sleek and the quality of the products is wonderful - my favourite product from the line is their blushers, which I have four of - but I intend on getting more.
The quality and pigmentation of these is wonderful - they last a very log time on my skin, the colour is true to the product, the come off on the skin the same colour as they are in the packaging - they have a lovely smooth texture and as I have sensitive skin, you would imagine cheap products to irritate - but they don't which is great.
The only thing I would say is that every blush above has some sort of shimmer to it but Mellow Mauve, which is a bit of a shame because I love matte blushes and as Berry Merry is my favourite - it would've been perfect if it had have been matte. But no matter - these blushes are affordable and worth the money so I would highly recommend these

Product Review - Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer

I've been trying this product out for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it! The main reason I picked it up was because I was watching one of Tanya Burr's videos and she raved about it and also because it was on offer in Superdrug for only £7.99!
This primer does exactly what it says, it extends the wear of my foundation and concealer etc so that it lasts all day - but it doesn't really do anything else. Yes, it would help to smooth out my skin, but it wouldn't help to minimise my pores or reduce the appearance of fine lines around my eyes etc. but realistically, it doesn't claim to do that, so I'm not all that bothered. And it does come with an SPF of 20 which is an added bonus :)
The consistency of the produc does come out quite thick as you can see from the picture - my hand is tilted and the product hasn't run down, but once it has been applied to the skin it feels quite light which I love.
If you are someone who needs that extra help or just likes primers that do everything, then this primer may not be for you, but I love it and I would highly recommend to anyone who just wants their foundation to last!

Product Reviews - No7 Colour Calming Primer & No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation

For once I have decided to do a photo step by step guide on this kind of review - foundations and primers etc. I may look a bit scary so I apologise.. but lets get into it!

So this is me with no make up one - foundation, concealer, primer etc. I did decide to leave my brows and eyeliner on etc as this review is just about the two products mentioned above in the title.
But as you can see, I am very pale, I have quite a lot of freckles, quite a bit of reddness of my cheeks, a few spots and what not. Beautiful

I then used the No7 Colour Calming Primer in Green, as it conteracts and corrects any redness that is on the skin, and after one layer, there is a huge difference! My skin doesn't look as red, it looks brighter and much more healthier.

I then applied my No7 Beautifully Matte foundation in Cool Beige and after one layer, my skin looks flawless! It has completely evened out my skin tone and has given me excellent coverage - there is no redness, no freckles, no spots - my skin looks wonderful and matte which I also love.
Excuse the fact my face is lighter than my neck, the flash washed the colour out quite a bit - it matches in real life :)

I then just finished my make up as I normally would and this is the finished look :)

Overall, I think these products are amazing! They're really affordable, excellent quality and by far my favourite pair of products to use together as they work wonderfully.

First Impression - L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Magic Blur

Today has been the first time I have tried this product, and already by just a first impression I am really impressed. It is said to be an instant skin smoother, it instantly erases the appearance of wrinkles, pores and imperfections.
On the first application I noticed it had made my face so soft - it has the same sort of consistence as Benefit's The Porefessional - except this one is white. It immediately made my skin look so much brighter and minised my pores on my nose amazingly well and just generally made my skin look so much better.
It made my make-up look flawless and it has lasted all day, even throughout the heat and with me rubbing my nose and touching my face etc.
Overall, this product is wonderful, it's my now favourite primer :)
