My Go to Pale Makeup

For me personally, I find it really hard to get a flawless look when I do decide to go pale - which now is quite often - but this is because that I hadn't found a foundation that gave me the coverage that I needed especially for my red cheeks, but now I've found two *jumps up and down with excitement* and these are the No7 Airbrush Away foundation in Calico and the L'Oreal True Match foundation in 1N Ivory. These two foundations are literally the best foundation I have found for pale skin and seeing as I love them so much, I figured I would share with you all the face products I love using with them both :)

Here I am wearing the L'Oreal True Match foundation

Primer: The tried and true Maybelline Baby Skin Poreless Primer
Concealer: No7 Under Eye concealer in the shade 10 and Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 10
Contour: Freedom Cotour Stick in Fair and Makeup Revolution Contour Palette
Blush: Benefit Dandelion, No7 Cranberry crush, Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft candy and Max Factors Creme Puff Blush in \Gorgeous Berries
Highlight: Rimmel Good to Glow in Notting Hill Glow and MUA highlighter in Iredescent Gold

Maybelline dream Flawless Nude Foundation

I purchased this foundation a while ago and I have worn it quite a number of times but I've never gotten around too reviewing it so, here it it.
This product retails for £8.99 in Superdrug and Boots and I got the shade 10 Ivory
The packaging is quite small and sleek and I love how it's in a glass bottle. It comes with a "dropper"
type thing which to be honest, isn't my cup of tea but I can make do.
The foundation itself is very light weight and has a water consistency to it which makes it very blendable, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the skin and it is definitely buildable to a medium to full coverage. It feels very natural and lets your skin breath and adds a nice glow to the skin
(Left to Right) No make-up - One layer of foundation, with two layers on the cheek area for extra coverage

Overall, I do really like this foundation - its inexpensive, it has great coverage and it feels wonderful on the skin, I will definitely be purchasing another one!

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation & Concealer

Maybelline is a great drugstore brand - it's affordable, it has a huge range of products and has been around for years! For me personally, the Fit Me range is my favourite - I love the foundation and concealer.
The foundation retails for £9.99 which is the standard drugstore price for a foundation. It has a smooth texture - it feels lovely and moisturising on the skin and makes the skin look healthy and dewy and it also has an SPF of 18. As the texture is smooth, it is very easy to blend and it doesn't appear cakey or anything like that. I picked up the shade 220 Natural Beige as I like to wear this foundation with tan and it matches my tan very well, though there are 18 shades altogether in the collection so choosing a shade to match you would be fairly easy.
The concealer retails for £5.99 which is also a very good price. It has quite a light and smooth texture which makes it very easy to blend and smooth over any fine lines around the eye area - and it also helps to brighten the under eye are as well. It does have good coverage so I also like to use this on blemishes.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

Here I am wearing my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and my skin just looks wonderful and healthy with a lovely glow. On my lips I have Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Don't Pink of It (10) which is a gorgeous muted matte pink shade

I have wanted this foundation for ages and unfortunately no where in Northern Ireland sells it and to be honest, I didn't want to buy it online in case it came broke or something, so I decided to wait until I went to Birmingham to get it.
I got the shade Punjab which is Medium 1 and it was £31...... pretty expensive I know, but that's around the standard price for a high end foundation and it was totally worth it.

The coverage is really nice, I would say it would medium to definitely buildable, it gives the skin a really nice luminosity/dewy glow making the skin look lovely and healthy. It blends really nice into the skin as well and doesn't appear cakey even when I build it to full coverage.
Overall, this foundation is everything I wanted it to be and I will definitely be purchasing it again, maybe even online! :)

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation and Primer

As I'm sure I have said quite a few times, I adore L'Oreal and it's fast becoming my favourite drugstore brand and without doubt, I absolutely love this combo! This foundation and Primer is gorgeous and if you were to wear them on their own, they look great as well.
I bought them together when there was a 3 for 2 which I also done a blog post on which you can find here. The foundation retails for £10.99 and primer is £9.99 which is a tad bit more expensive than other brands like Rimmel and Maybelline.
The primer is gorgeous, it has almost a silver appearances and when it's applied to the skin it gives it such a healthy and radiant appearance - without looking oily or greasy.
The foundation is also very radiant without looking oily, it just makes your skin look so healthy and beautiful and as if it's glowing from within. It has I'd say a medium to definitely a builable full coverage as it does a very good job at covering the redness on my cheeks.

Here is a picture of the primer and foundation together - as you can see my skin looks flawless and radiant and I'm absolutely in love! You all need to try this combo :)

Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation

I use the sponge that came with the foundation to apply it as I find it is the easiest and best way
I got this foundation along with a creme puff blush and the CC corrector for under they eyes on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. The foundation retails for £12.99, which I will admit, I thought it was a little bit pricey.
I really do like this foundation though, I love the consistency and texture of it and as it states, it has a liquid illusion feel to it which I would have to agree with, when it is first applied it is really cooling on the skin and does feel like a liquid but then it drys to almost a powder feel, so you don't need to set it, which is handy.

It gives a decent amount of coverage, as you'll be able to see from the pictures below, it does even out my skin tone and hides the redness on my cheeks, though I would still need to spot conceal which I don't mind, that's what concealer is for not foundation. I would say though that it would definitely be build-able to a fuller coverage.

Before the makeup application - you an see I have quite a bit of redness and a few pesky spots

The coverage is very good, though I do need to use a concealer just to add a bit of extra coverage on my spots
It does give my skin a very nice glow, making it look very natural and healthy. I would highly recommend this product if your looking for a new foundation, it is definitely one of my drugstore favourites

L'Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation and Primer

As you can see, my skin is very matte in the areas where I don't have a highlighter which is my nose, cheekbones and cupids bow

L'Oreal is fast becoming my favourite drugstore brand yet, they're products are absolutely amazing and the quality of each is superb. I bought the Infallible 24H Matte foundation and Primer a few weeks ago when they were on offer for £6.99 each in Superdrug and I've been trying them out for quite a while as well, I actually have two shades of the foundation - Porcelain and Sand Beige but for the purpose of this review I decided to do Porcelain as I don't usually show my pale foundations.

The foundation and Primer are fabulous together! The Primer has a very light texture and smooths onto the skin like a dream giving it a matte appearance. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky and doesn't leave any kind of residue on your skin.
The foundation matches me very well which is a bit surprising because usually I can't find one that does. It has quite a thicker texture/feel to it without it being too heavy, my skin still feels natural and like it's able to breath. The coverage is fairly high and is definitely build able without looking cakey - and it also applies matte onto the skin.

The staying power is also incredible, I wore this for a few days from around 8am to about 6.30-7pm and it did not budge, at all. It lasted well around 10.5 hours without a touch up, though that could be contributed to the fact I have dry skin, but even without that I'd say this would last a decent amount of time on any skin type

I do have dry skin so I was a bit wary when I first picked this foundation up, but I can honestly say I haven't had any problems with this foundation clingy to any dry areas or making me look patchy and I think it is mostly down the the fact I moisturise before I apply primer/foundation and also because of the Primer itself, helping to smooth out my skin - so even if you do have dry skin, I would highly recommend this duo, they are brilliant!

Product Reviews - No7 Colour Calming Primer & No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation

For once I have decided to do a photo step by step guide on this kind of review - foundations and primers etc. I may look a bit scary so I apologise.. but lets get into it!

So this is me with no make up one - foundation, concealer, primer etc. I did decide to leave my brows and eyeliner on etc as this review is just about the two products mentioned above in the title.
But as you can see, I am very pale, I have quite a lot of freckles, quite a bit of reddness of my cheeks, a few spots and what not. Beautiful

I then used the No7 Colour Calming Primer in Green, as it conteracts and corrects any redness that is on the skin, and after one layer, there is a huge difference! My skin doesn't look as red, it looks brighter and much more healthier.

I then applied my No7 Beautifully Matte foundation in Cool Beige and after one layer, my skin looks flawless! It has completely evened out my skin tone and has given me excellent coverage - there is no redness, no freckles, no spots - my skin looks wonderful and matte which I also love.
Excuse the fact my face is lighter than my neck, the flash washed the colour out quite a bit - it matches in real life :)

I then just finished my make up as I normally would and this is the finished look :)

Overall, I think these products are amazing! They're really affordable, excellent quality and by far my favourite pair of products to use together as they work wonderfully.

MIA and Shopping

I'm going to apologise for being so MIA lately, I've been so busy with tech everyday and working nights that I haven't had time to properly sit down and do a post - granted I don't really have the time at the minute to either, but I don't want to leave you guys hanging.
Plus... I have been doing quite a bit of shopping this past month - like, a lot. Especially in Boots and Superdrug... I'm addicted. So I thought I would share with you the items I have purchsed in the past few weeks, beauty and non beauty.

I intend to do a blog post about the make-up items quite soon and I'll obviously be going into a lot more detail as well so keep an eye out :)

Review - Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

I got this foundation a few weeks ago in Superdrug. The packaging immediately caught my attention - it was simple but yet colourful and bold. I bought it for £10.99, which isn't that bad, but it is a step up from Rimmel and the shade was 51 Vanilla.
There are three pigments within the foundation, each of which correct imperfections
1. Yellow pigments - to correct dark circles
2. Mauve pigments - to correct a dull complexion
3. Green pigments - to correct redness
It also states to give a Flawless complexion for up to 16 hours

So to get started on the review - the foundation is a nice consistency, though you will have to shake it before use to thicken it as it was quite watery when I first tested it. I would say it has a medium but build-able coverage as it did help hid my dark circles and added some brightness to my complexion, but as I have quite a lot of redness on my cheeks I had to add more foundation in order to correct it.

I didn't wear the foundation for up to 16 hours as I was only busy for about 3 or 4, but in that time the foundation still looked as good as it had when I first put it on, granted a bit wore off around my nose due to scratching etc. but that's to be expected.
I would recommend that if you have oily skin you would need to set it with a powder but if you have dry skin then the dewy finish with look great, though you may still want to set with powder along the T zone, or anywhere you may get oily in the hot weather.

Overall, your getting what you paid for. The foundation is great, gives a nice coverage and a nice finish and would be great for days were you don't want to wear much make-up. It does correct and perfect and I will be purchasing it again :)
